Hey guys, I really need some input.

So, I'm a freshman second semester studying aerospace engineering and I have been thinking about switching my major to Economics with Prelaw (it has additional courses).

I'm just wondering if the real world looks favorably upon economists? I'm also planning on doing ROTC and joining the military after college, then apply for the Foreign Service in the State Department.

BUT, if that doesn't work out how would my experience in the military and my economics degree hold in the job market?

Also, if you can, tell me about majoring in economics in general.

Before I went into university, I was interested in both majors, but I just so happened to pick engineering.

But, I'm going to do ROTC and to get a commission as an active duty officer in my preferred branch, I have to get a good GPA. Which is another reason why I want to switch to economics - it'll be easier than engineering.

You are crazy, switching is a terrible idea. I would stay in aerospace engineering over economics ESPECIALLY with military experience any day.
