Just how much can can penny stocks earn you? What are some ways I can get started or is it even worth my time?

Depends on the stock, how much you have to invest, and whether or not the stock itself is stable enough to generate a bump as needed.
ASTI is one of the /rhg/ favorites, and it's rather stable. I've made about $700 this year, flipping the same 10000 shares, over and over again. Last one (flip was performed on Friday,) bought at $0.0867 around 1030, sold at $0.0889 at 1235. $22 bucks in the turn. Some of the other ones have been even bigger (like back on 2/4 when it jumped from .0700 to 0.1200.)
Obviously, if you have more you can make more on these micro-fluctuations in price, if you have less then you make less.
