What are the strategies you use for trading? I usually use the scalping method, it works well for me.
Pic unrelated

I'm interested in day trading advice too. Bump.
1. VOO
2. Wait
buy the dip
Play both sides of the coin, especially in a volatile market. Yesterday I made eight grand, all short. Today I'm at six and a half, all longs.
Algo scalping has been pretty profitable recently. Excluding the week going into and out of the december rate hike.

Kek. Look at all these noobs.
Just go back to Vanguard and enjoy your 1% annualized returns so that you can save $1 million by the time you're an old and miserable 80 year old faggot

>anon you mind telling me how you did this?
He used his imagination, obviously.
You didn't actually think that was true, did you? Kek.

>put 3x bull/bear etfs on watchlist
>guess if it's gonna be a good or bad day
>put some money down
>see if it works
Buy low, sell low, buy again, sell slightly lower, buy again, sell much higher, buy again, sell slightly lower.
desu, I've always though buying a call and a put option a month or so out and hoping for at least a slight pull into profitability with both at separate points in time before expiration was a decent move, but it's not likely to work for either unless you get large spikes in volatility, and it doesn't help now that volitility is high and options are expensive. I can't bring myself to enter large positions as I figure to lose 100% of anything i put in.

A smart investor doesn't buy options, he sells them.
Options fail 9/10 times.

Pick a stock you think is likely to flip. Keep an eye on the news, check out sites like Seeking Alpha, and keep abrest of those stocks.
Then, buy. Then, sell at a reasonable spot.
For example, /rhg/'s darling ASTI. We know it's a joke stock now, but at $0.08xx a share, someone with $100 can buy a bunch, flip it, and make a bit. If you have more, then of course you can make more. Last flip I did, I bought 23000 shares of ASTI at 0.0857. I immediately set a limit sell at 0.0880. $50 gained, roughly 3% profit on the trade.
I sold at what I thought would have been the daily peak would be. Turns out it was actually $0.0920, so I undercut myself, but that's ok, because I still turned a profit.
In the end, that's the best way to do it (IMHO.) Playing a small margin for limited gains is better than going for a big buy.

You're absolutely right. I unfortunately don't have the money to back even smallish positions in top traded securities, so I tried small amounts of options gambling. Even if i had enough money to cover being short, say, spy options, I'd be too scared to do it
