Excuse me but I made like 500 trades on robinhood this year. How the fuck do I report them all on this paper? I'm very confused /biz/ please help
It's simple. One after the other. You're welcome.
>>1097117
Start typing...
Unless you can import them?
>>1097123
I'd rather just not report it then. IRS can go fuck themselves if they think I'm going to report all 500 trades when I only came out with like 80 dollars profit at the end of it.
>>1097130
So don't report it. Nobody gives a fuck about $80.
They're supposed to send you a form already filled out. My broker did. I don't know what the deal with Robinhood is though.
>>1097148
Brilliant!
>>1097130
Brilliant move considering the irs has a copy of your 1099. Go ahead and guarantee yourself an audit.
>>1097117
I got the notification from them, went to go get the document and it turns out I've been trading for a year and they haven't even finished processing my application for an account.
>>1097162
They won't audit him. They will send him a letter saying pay up + fees
1099B's weren't required to be post marked until today 2/16. You should be able to get it online at this point.
Hire an accountant

What the fuck is a form 8949?
Your broker should provide with a 1099 which should of mailed out yesterday electronically.
Come on now OP.
>halp halp how do i google
>>1097235
you shouldn't talk shit unless you know what you're talking about. You've obviously never filed a tax return with a 1099 or you'd know that the info from the 1099 goes on the 8949.
>>1097235
Yes but I can't just send them my 1099. I need to rewrite ALL OF my transactions on the 8949. And that would literally take me 10 like hours. I didn't even make enough stock money this year to pay someone to do my taxes either
>>1097293
You're stressing too much about this. They accept other formats you just put see attached on the 8949 and I think you can attached your 1099. Read the 8949 instructions there are ways around writing it all out.
>>1097297
TY mate, I'll look into it more.
If you use turbotax you can just link your account and import all of your trades.
>>1097318
Can't import until 23rd.
>500 trades for 80 dollars profit
>>1097399
[ ] 17 cents per trade
Put it on a spreadsheet then include that as a supplement
I have to do this shit tonight too. I have 50 or 60 trades to enter. I have been using tax slayer for years, but it's temping me to switch to turbo tax so I can upload instead of manually entering them like a faggot.
>>1097130
Such an odd attitude.
When I first sold a stock I was excited I could finally use a schedule D. Speaking of which OP, you have the wrong paper.
500 trades. made 80 dollars. hilarious.
>>1097399
that's the only real takeaway here for me
>>1097482
>tfw OP outperformed the market
>>1097510
I actually did, surprisingly
It's fine guys I torrented turbotax and im going to import it on the 23rd
>>1097510
Well, when you say it that way...
>>1097399
At least he didn't lose money
>>1097554
>torrenting tax software
lol
>>1097554
Lmfao senpai
Never torrent tax software. Ever.
There's ways to do it for free. Srsly dude don't do that.
I have the same issue... Tried to import it on turbo tax and u had exceed the 500 transactions limit. Makes sense anyways my 1099b us 60+ pages long... Will be mailing these in anyways...
>>1097973
Do you really want to risk a major chance of ID Theft? Really?
>>1097163
And they never will. Robin Hood is a shameless scam and you should know by now
>>1097163
LOL
>>1097973
Everything goes through their servers. There's no way you can use it without them knowing you're using their pirated product.
