-renewable, albeit slow production (can't just "print" money)
-limited by growing space on planet Earth (limited supply)
-great incentive to reclaim land on Earth and terraform other planets to increase maximum supply (soft limit)
-wood can decay, which makes controlling the wood supply more difficult (no point in cutting down all trees and hoarding the world's supply)
-wood has innumerable actual uses which anyone of any socioeconomic class anywhere in the world can employ (other reasons to use wood rather than hoarding it)
It's basically everything you need for a commodity-backed currency.
