Does anyone here use TradeStation for day trading, or any other day trading program?

I'm trying to decide whether an i5 or an FX-8320 is a better buy for the CPU. The FX chip has more power overall according to several benches, but of course AMD suffers on single core perf. and in general I figure it would be best to get opinions from actual users.

If you've only ever used AMD or Intel, please try to imagine how the other company's product would perform in comparison when using Trade Station before answering.

I do but I have an i7 so I can't really help. Either of those should be fine though you would think.

bro just get either processor, at least 8gb of ram, a ssd to boot off of, and a video card (if it supports graphics acceleration)

Well I would go for a i5 due to its better performance and lower TDP unless your doing video rendering or any program that can leverage all 8 cores. While there are double the cores there not nearly as powerful ones so make sure if you get the AMD that your using it for optimized programs. (P.S. due to high TDP it will run hotter naturally so maybe a H100i by corsair and youl get good turbo speeds.)

In my opinion best option is Intel with lower power draw and not many apps or games optimized for 8 cores but they are starting to get to a reasonable level for 4 core optimization.

how ever what your doing im guessing would require a lot of small and fast operations but that does not mean that that its optimized for 8 cores necessarily but then again whose to say it uses all 4 cores as well.

thanks for the help guys!
