So, all you Ethereum experts, please answer the following:

1) How is Ethereum better than Ripple?
2) How is Ethereum better than MaidSafeCoin?
3) How is Ethereum better than Bitcoin?
4) How will Ethereum deal with ever increasing blockchain size? It is currently a problem with Bitcoin, current blockchain is over 40GB and growing.
5) How will Ethereum deal with centralisation of mining pools? This was a problem with BTC.
6) How will Ethereum deal with forking?
7) How will Ethereum ensure the network is capable of making 10000 transactions per second and not 1 transaction like Bitcoin?

I figured if they are promoting ETH they should at least know their shit.

1) How is Ethereum better than Ripple?
It's a byzantine fault tolerant system. Ripple relies on a central authority. Ethereum is designed to go on running forever like bitcoin was supposed to before mining centralised
2) How is Ethereum better than MaidSafeCoin?
>Maidsafecoin is a one trick pony. Anything that maidsafe can do can also be done in Ethereum
3) How is Ethereum better than Bitcoin?
>It's fully programable, and has a wide range of applications besides being used as a currency.
4) How will Ethereum deal with ever increasing blockchain size? It is currently a problem with Bitcoin, current blockchain is over 40GB and growing.
>there are a number of solutions in development, thats the thing, ethereum is still constantly being developed, they have freedom to make changes because there aren't so many vested interests with their own agendas like bitcoin has.
5) How will Ethereum deal with centralisation of mining pools? This was a problem with BTC.
>currently the hashing algo is designed to be asic proof by forcing a large file to be held in graphics ram. When it switches to POS algorithm CASPER which is being developed there will be an incentive structure to discourage centralisation.
6) How will Ethereum deal with forking?
>not really an issue
7) How will Ethereum ensure the network is capable of making 10000 transactions per second and not 1 transaction like Bitcoin?
>Ethereum is already capable of making about 4 times more transactions per second than bitcoin would be able to even if they increased the blocksize to the maximum suggested. The scaling plans for ethereum at the next update, the one after homestead, could be sharding or some as yet unmentioned technique. Currently this is not an issue.

Thanks, it seems that right now this coin relies on many promises. Will see if they come into fruition.

>>1096508
Well, Ethereum has suprised the doubters before. First they said it would never be released and it was vaporware, then it was released. Then they said the price would crash to below IPO price, it didn't and was always about triple IPO price. Now they say it is a bubble pump and dump, well, so far it isn't dumping. Now they say it's a load of promises, well ethereum will fulfil those promises

>quoting the answers instead of the questions

You're a real idiot, aren't you?

It's the next big thing. Either get on board now and join us to the moon or stay poor and nocoin.
>>
>>1096563
I was in a rush
>and this does not nessesarily mean quotes
>>
>>1096567
Quoting is the EXACT reason that greentext exists. That is its sole intended function. You are fucking retarded.
>>
>>1096577
Well, not really. On 4chan its a commonly used formatting option. Its used in a wide variety of situations
>>
>>1096582
The one you used it in is just stupid, though. You realize if you highlight text before quoting something it automatically gets greentexted? That's clearly the intended function.

Holy fuck you two are dumb.

Any news on ETH and china?

So mining ETH is actually completing a task for somebody computationally? Or rather you can make contracts for people to solve and they'll get paid automatically from a pool you set aside?
>>
>>1096930
Basically a smart contract allows you to directly do business with a blockchain in a trustless way meaning you don't have to trust. You know it will definitely happen.

This article explains the difference between ethereum and ripple.

And an explanation of what trustless computing means.

But what's a dumb contract then?
