Im planning on moving to canada from my shithole 3rd world country. I have spent a lot of time and money getting all my credentials verified and applying for visas etc (im not a refugee).
What is happening over there? I heard they recently elected a different type of government and are now worse off because of it. Or is it just due to the oil industry being down that affects them?
Western Provinces are slowing down due to Crude Oil crash, but Unemployment is still surprisingly low. Crude oil crash is also why the CDN dollar is so low. Rest of the country is doing about the same as it was before.
New Government is probably a good thing if you are an immigrant (previous administration was more xenophobic... although no where near as bad as the right wing in the US).

Canada here. Houses/Condos are expensive and most (non new construction) are dilapidated as fuck because the owners have no incentive to maintain because they will get their high asking price no matter what. We also don't make much money and our money is almost toilet paper tier.

ridiculously expensive housing costs propped up by foreign investors, wealthy immigrants, and rising household debt that keep getting higher every year, lack of high paying jobs especially for somebody like you, no end in sight to either of the above due to the factors that lead to both not even being close to changing
