In Europe Indians and Africans already do this with shit like plastic roses. Buy them for $0.5 and sell them for $5. I'm sure you can pressure 10-20 people per hour. The more tourists the better. Though busy streets and restaurants work too.

Aggressive panhandling will get your ass beat by the cops though. So just sit there with your sign and don't approach people. If you annoy the right white person they will come down on you and since they will see you as a poor homeless person, they will go to town.
Don't dress like a fucking hobo. You want to wear normal clothes, nothing fancy. A guy in clean blue jeans is going to be less offensive than some greasy nasty hobo wearing dirty crusty jeans.
