I actually bought end of October for around 70 Cent the coin I believe. Got screen shots to back it up.
>>
>>1083106
Ether is the currency for transactions on the ethereum network.
Ethereum is a turing complete blockchain app platform.

Every logic operation on the ethereum blockchain costs a tiny amount of Ether.

By buying ether you are buying a share of real estate on the ethereum blockchain.

You can buy ether with bitcoins on the cryptocurrency exchanges that trade ether. Poloniex is the biggest, kraken, or shapeshift.io.

>should i buy or will it go back to 1$ first?
>>
>>1083155
I honestly believe the days where you could buy ETH for $1 are long gone and will never return.

You would have to get extremely lucky with some terrible news, entire dev team wiped out in a plane crash, some kind of unforeseen bug in ethereums consensus protocol which renders the whole thing useless, that sort of thing.

Your other question about $1000?

I think it's possible. If ethereum got to the same market cap as apple or google each Ether would be worth over $7000

These are different times. And it's a different coin.

Bitcoin at that time was like a headless chicken no one knew it wasn't going to disappear or somehow be banned.

Ethereum has a proper development roadmap and a visible and growing development community. People are too smart to dump their ether at this early stage.

Well, it failed it's primary goal as the next retail e-currency, it didn't even put a dent into PayPal, it's used nothing but for speculation, the network is monopolized by a small group of people who now have the computing power to corrupt it and embezzle coins, the developers are at war with each other, numerous cases of fraud, the largest exchange was fraudulent and it's notorious enough to be banned by name by most governments.

It's inversely related to Bitcoin. The worse off BTC becomes (and it will) the more users and money flow into ETH.

Shit is gonna get real soon.
>>
>>1083380

You're wrong. The best thing in early stages like this is there is almost no risk because the values are so small.

Downside is you lose a fewundred bucks. Who gives a shit. The upside is stellar.
>>

You're being patronising. $30 could become $300 or $3000 or $0.

Anon seems to have weighed up the risks. You might panic sell if you put in $30,000 but at $30 the likelyhood of panic selling is low. Especially if it's kept in cold storage on a paper wallet.

>>
>>1083418

That's a limitation if you don't already own any BTC. You have to through an exchange and provide ID and a bank account to draw funds from. This took me 5 days but through Kraken I coudl buy ETH directly for Canadian dollars, so I didn't have to buy shitty ass Bitcoin at some ridiculous price.

Why do you care about anonymity? You're not using bitcoin to pay for drugs or child porn. Buying bitcoin is not illegal. You are investing in a decentralised internet protocol.

You can also buy bitcoin easily on localbitcoins domestic bank transfer option.

Avoid buying BTC if possible.

If you do it through BTC, you are basically injecting capital into the BTC market which does nothing to help ETH.

Remember, we want Bitcoin to die a slow, painful death. The fedoras that got lucky in 2013 must suffer in silence, more than they do already with their 2D gfs.

Find an exchange that allows you you to buy ETH directly from your national currency.

Most places offering direct ether buying with fiat either charge a premium (bittylicious) or take days to process KYC (kraken)

What's the P/E ratio?

Is the profit growth higher than the dividends?

Is the net worth high?

If the P/E ratio is between 5 and 15, and the the answer to the second and third question is yes, I suggest you invest.

Personally, I don't like high risk stocks. You have to think whether this company has the potential to grow to the scale of a Nifty Fifty company. Big, stable companies are always the best, and I discourage short term investing.

A paper wallet can be generated at myetherwallet. It basically generates an address that you can send ether to and provides you with a private key that you will need to access your ether.

You will need to keep your password safe and a copy of your private key either encrypted (with your password) or unencrypted, in order to access your ether.

That's why I have invested all of my money in scratch off lottery tickets. I took a reverse mortgage on my parents home and took out a car title loan so I can invest as much of my money into scratch offs as possible. I also rent all of my furniture and electronics from rent a center so I can keep more of my assets liquid for lotto investments. They won't accept credit as a form of payment for lottery tickets, they can't out smart me though. I turned my available credit on my high interest credit cards into cash for a fee and also invested that into scratch offs.

I highly recommend everyone else do the same before all the lottery associations realize what a mistake they've made.

Protip: don't forget to diversify your investment by buying different kinds of scratch offs. If money is a barrier to entry don't be afraid to pawn your jewelry or belongings, or your family's belongings. You can buy them nicer stuff and terms you've won the lottery.
>>

Do you honestly think cryptocurrency is like a lottery?

Do you think they are all the same? Do you think it's impossible to know which one will do well and which ones won't?

If you think like that you don't know enough about the subject
>>
>>1083558
I don't think it's like the lottery at all, I just think it's equally stupid. If your going to ride the wave on a pump and dump you better know when to get out.

I don't think you've really given much thought to what ethereum actually is.

You're assuming this price rise is due to pure pump and dump rather than real developments.

You are making that assumption after reading absolutely nothing on the subject apart from this thread.

Yes lots of delays. There is no "easy" way of doing this yet other than what i posted. Its possible to wire after like 3 days after account creation but that can take another few days. I wish i did what i just told u to do a few days ago when ether was 2.20. Instead had to wait for dumb shit.
>>
How is it even better than BTC though? Like what actual advantages - apart from all this pump and dump bullshit - does it have as a cryptocurrency?
>>
>>1084553
How i understand it, u can attach shit to transactions. Think of how credit cards give u 1% Cashback. Same could be applied here. Btc doesnt do that.
>>
>>1084556
There's got to be more to it than that... you can put scripts inside BTC transactions currently:
https://youtu.be/Lx9zgZCMqXE?t=380

Also, a vendor could just implement that 1% cashback on top of regular BTC layer.
