Is it even possible to make money playing poker?
I've played it for a while with play mememoney but it was kind of yolo where I'd just all in often since who cares about imaginary money.
If I deposit $20 every two weeks and play super low stakes could I make any extra spending money or will I get raped by sharks and just lose it all?

I played for awhile and the sharks are really good. Too good. 95% of people who play are useless and you'll likely win if you're good at the game... only to lose it to people better than you.
I won $300 and subsequently lost it on the next table to a shark.

Absolutely. But you would like to have pro to play with you at least couple of hours. After that you should be ready to beat the games till nl/plo 100. You are never going to figure out the game by yourself. There are so many tricks people are not aware and you want to have the pro to show some of them.Todays games are tough.
Unibet does not have rake at all at micro. They have also banned tracking softwares. So it's 10x easier for guys like you compared to stars for example.

Nah man, poker ez money if you know not to tilt. Watch Athene on youtube and his poker series. Microstakes ofc. Also learn to fold anything else than premium hands (a.k.a AK, AA, AQ etc) and youll make money on some sucker who thinks his hand is better. Thats how I do it. Beat real big sharks with that tactic, they get so cocky, and you eat their whole buy in lol. But alas I find poker boring and I get better pay per time spent elsewhere without risking anything so its a small hobby

10 years ago I sold pot to a guy who did this for a living, apartment, car payments, insurance, food + fun money just from taking old retirees for small hands online
Another buddy is semi pro (plays vegas tournies) but his parents are loaded so when he says he "won 4k" I have to ask myself how many other trips were bust (since he has a fallback)
anyway, first guy says it doesnt work anymore to rape people online and the best bet is to find games in casinos (same targets though, old retirees who dont care so much vs other sharks)
Surefire way to lose money. Microstakes will not generate you enough to make it a worthwhile time investment and at higher stakes you will get hit with paid software + sharks/pros.
Live might be a good way to go to start. Look around at your local casinos for 100$ 1/2 cash games or small local tournies. See if you can learn the game like that.
I was looking at this as a possible avenue to generate income while at my desk job. Online is bad. Live might be better. But you should read books, watch videos and try to to talk to a real life grinder with experience.
I would suggest doing Poker Stars Spin and Goes. You may hit a huge jackpot and its pretty easy to win the lower stakes buy-in ones.

What about Blackjack? If you practice blackjack theory enough couldn't you get like 51-52% edge and win more than you lose? That seems like it would be a legitimate way of making money if you just stay consistent and practice it enough for it to just be second nature.

51-52% odds? With perfectly optimal play your odds will never exceed 49.5%. You need to know how to count if you want to exceed that.
Play money games are nothing like real money, even micro stakes. Doesnt matter how "good" you are at winning play money you will get raped until you actually learn real strategy
So how do some poker pros make millions?
It is possible to beat NL100-NL200, but you have to be very dedicated and disciplined. I am talking about 10 hours a day consisting of playing, reading, watching, analysing etc.
Even then your edge on others is so thin nowadays, that you will often get hit with variance, so even if you play well you can lose money for months.
The days of early to mid 2000's when you could print stacks of money just by playing ABC poker at NL200 are long gone unfortunately. The field got a lot tougher since 2009 onwards due to various reasons.
