I am in college and I have midterms coming up I am not prepared for. I am wondering if it's worth paying a teacher assistant or someone to help me do well on the exams? Does or has anybody do this kinda thing?

I sometimes tutor/take classes for people if the classes are online. Rates average about $300 per class. Some I won't take though. Tutoring averages about $15/hr. I have a bachelor's.

So how many hours do you think it would take someone to help me learn enough to do well in a midterm for computer science?
>>
About four hours a week is usually enough to hold their hand and explain everything in a way that they can understand the material better. They would still have to do studying on their own too.

The four hours includes completing their homework and explaining homework instructions. It doesn't include stuff like getting them to read the book (which they rarely do).

So what do you recomment I do as a student? Should I read the book, try the excersizes and then ask for tutor? (how many hours?)
