How closely do you monitor your grocery spending?
How many stores do you shop at?
How often do you go shopping?
Do you know how much you paid for that jar of peanut butter or jug of detergent? Do you know which store has the lowest prices of which?
Do you know how fast you'll go through an item?
Do you track these things and/or more?
Or do you just say screw it and buy whatever whenever.

This. The amount of time and desire to live lost would outweigh any money I'd save.
I tend to set a price point for meats and produce. I always look for the yellow managers special tag on meat and i scoure the clearance produce rack. Whatever you're not going to eat within 72 hours, just freeze or dehydrate it. Pastas and cans are usually always on sale somewhere so that's pretty easy. I'm an Amway distributor so my cleaning products, snacks, detergents and vitamins are all home delivered and they pay for themselves from my sales. Just be smart and don't be afraid to make your purchases pretty for themselves.

You say that but do you live a life without boredom? The instant you are bored even for a second means you failed at time management. Not saying it's avoidable, but that mindset still beats your "I'm too lazy to get an app that does all this for me"
