So, is the stock market the same as informed betting? Therfore wouldn't it be just as profitable to use the same tactic of: Spread out your finances and hope that most of them don't drop, the same as spreading out your bets, that way you lose on one or 2 but win on 2 or 3.

Welcome to finance. This is called diversification and is extremely important in creating a portfolio. What people do is pick stocks that have low correlation with each other (different sectors, markets, countries) so that if one drops, others wont follow its path
in casino you know the rules and they never change, its a static system where you know the bounds.
