What bank should I be using for my checking account? Does it really not matter if I never hold more than $20k in checking at a time?

I'm on Wells Fargo right now, and there are literally zero perks that I'm aware of.

IKTFB. I use Mountain America Credit Union, but only because it's what my parents put me on for my savings account when I was 10-ish

It basically doesn't matter. Just switch anytime Chase/CITI/Wells Fargo etc... offer $200 for a new checking account or whatever.

USAA masterrace reporting

Why 20k in checking? Once some one gets your debit card numbers and drains it then youll learn

Wells fargo is shit,

OP I use Wells Fargo too. It's literally so easy to open a savings with no fees there. Why the hell do you have 20k in Checkings? Put it in savings. Keep what you need for like a week in Checking.

Even better move it to some online bank with better interest.

Wells Fargo sucks. Try your local credit union for much better rate and a lot less fees. BB&T used to be good, too, so look into them if credit unions are out of the question.

ally bank money market account ftw

Rate-wise, credit unions don't have shit on online banks like Barclays.
>>
I use Charles Schwab and I like that they reimburse ATM fees because I am out of the country alot.

Try hiding your cash under a floor board and just get a lot of credit cards with cash back bonuses. Pay them off responsibly and theeeeere you go.

Or just split your funds into a bunch of checking accounts like the above guy mentioned, but their interest rates will just lessen your buying power bc inflation and such. So will stashing it, but at least that way you can more easily manage your money.

Go for the higher credit score. ;]
Love you too, I'll take 8% pls. =]
