Are there any accountants or auditors on here? I've been reading a lot about them lately and it seems like a great career to have with solid demand. What are the pros/cons of it? Would you recommend it?

If you get involved with audit, make sure you get in at a Fortune 500 with a strong acquisitions department. It is not too difficult to transition from Internal Audit to Risk Management then ultimately Mergers and Acquisitions (which is where the real money is at).

Been at work since 9am, been on 4chan since 9am

Good work if you find the right gig
making 45k a year, with big4 on my resume

Seems kinda shit desu. If I wanted a stable job. I would be a credit analyst at a major bank. Also, lots of room to move up and hours aren't IB tier. Salary is also really good.

this has literally become a meme

it's not fun. it's looking at numbers all day. 2 places i've worked at have fired loads of people having automated a load of stuff. unless you're chartered and have worked at a big4 competition is FIERCE to get anywhere.

It's a fun job but it has an upper-limit to what you can even if you get ACCA/CIMA. Big 4 experience is mandatory these days which is a shame as not everyone can work in those places. I wouldn't pursue it as a career these days, though. It's best to study it in university so you can use it for part-time work and then score a graduate position in banking or MIS.

What do credit analysts do? How are your hours?
