it's not way-stupid. oil companies operate on long cycles, have 25-year plans and pay regular dividends. it's smart to buy into them when they're unpopular and just reinvest. people have gotten rich off of that. only reasons why I'm not doing that is because I think it could go lower over the year and I've thrown my investment money into other things.
