I think we're coming up on tax time, when the media will spend a lot of time telling us what the "market value" of stay at home mom's is. They will probably throw out a figure of around $120k per year.
Meanwhile, they will ignore the husband who's busting his hump to earn $50k per year to support the wife and kids.
GDP is a number. It neglects anything that isn't quantifiable.
