also the message is similar in both. Pena books are a waste of time so I do not read them. While Lopez says Most of the words in a book are a waste of time so do not read them.
Both read, however both think books are inefficient means of information delivery.

speed reading is more of a waste of time than reading but only by a little. reading is the epitomy of "im making progress ^^" without getting anything done, especially fiction or trivia (wow now im an expert on 17th century quilts, thanks audible!).
at least reading slowly helps your language skills and reasoning, since you often find yourself arguing with the author. speed reading just sucks up whatever shit the author puts in front of you and takes it at face value, which is for suckers.
