Sup /biz/

I currently make just over 1k a month.

I can comfortably save ~250 a month, more if i lived super tight.

I want to either start my own business, or invest in something. I've got about 2k saved right now. I just need some direction, because everything I have interest in doing seem fucking saturated, and I don't know how I'd get beyond the first step.

Well, post your credentials (resume would be better but I'm assuming you don't have one)

What level of schooling did you reach?
What job do you do? For how long? Etc...

College drop out
Work at local comic store for past 2 years

Too much of my brain is dedicated to games like D&D, MTG, 40k

Trying to get my life in order, wish I could find a way to do it with the hobbies I enjoy. Even if it became a 70+hrs. They're like the biggest passion I've got.

One option: ever thought of starting an eBay business around buying/selling rare cards. Your knowledge could be an asset, and you wouldn't need to quit your day job.

I've thought about that, I think I'm just afraid I'll net losses some how. Self confidence isn't really there, but I'm usually able to pick out what cards are gonna skyrocket, say before the set comes out and places you can pre-order, then a month or so down the road flip them for 3-6 times as much

Also thought about self-publishing some tabletop RPG adventures, but I don't know a fucking thing about self publishing, if its even worth the time to put into it.

I used to buy and sell cards in my spare time. You can make some okay money that way and enjoy what you are doing. Once flipped a $300 investment for $1000 in a day, but that was the largest flip I was able to do that quickly.

Former YGO player that got started in flipping by trading my yugioh cards.
Assuming that you aren't complete shit at those games and that you actually know what to look for in the meta then start flipping cards and eventually work your way into other mediums with larger margins
