What do you do with your tax refund?
Personally, I cash it, put it in a cut out book, and then use it as earnest money for hard narcotics. Keeps me limited for the year.

The IRS does pay interest at a rather high rate, if they owe you enough, and you meet some other qualifications.
One year after a brokerage fucked up, and doubled down by trying to cover up their mistake, I had to pay about $40k, and then finally claim it back once everything was straightened out about 6 months later. I got a couple of thousand in interest and refunded penalties.

Almost 80% of Americans get tax refunds. While everyone knows the "OMG, giving the government a free loan" meme, most Americans are shit when it comes to saving, so its probably best to just let the government do a little saving for them. Its not like they were going to invest it in something worthwhile.
