So I'm starting my apprenticeship in tax advisory on February 1st. Any tips? Anything I should expect?
If someone's curious about the recruitment process, I'll answer questions too.

my mate interned in corporate tax advisory at ey and he said its really just a lot of reading and filling out forms at the junior level. Whats your background?
>>
>>1051903
Law and Finance & Accounting double major. No experience in tax.

Nice, from my experience its really about cultural fit and managing expectations. If you are not a total autist you should be fine.

youre going to be a middle class boring cunt forever. Get used to your wife cucking you when youre working late as a corporate pawn.

>being this mad

sure big 4 dont pay that well at junior level but earning potential over your career is huge. Once you make manager level you start earning considerably more. I knew a senior manager at kpmg who had started there as a grad and had only been there 2 years, if you are any good you will go places.

which country/city?

what salary do you expect?
>>
>>1054258
Warsaw, Poland.
The wages for Big 4 trainees are shit 2bh, I'm on 25 PLN/h which sums up to 4200 PLN. This is more or less an average salary in Bolan (median salary about 3300).

in Moscow we also have big 4 offices/big American law firms.

But it's pure cucking, Bronisław, better to work for a government agency if you are burdened with law degree, as I am, too.

Working for public administration in Poland means less money, low prestige and having ignorant politicians as overseers. I don't trust my nation enough to let them decide my entire life on the day of election (although I think it's not a big factor in Russia kek).
Nobody wants to be a corporate pawn forever, but being cucked by either foreign capital or local idiot makes no difference to me.

I don't know why people would even have questions.

All it matters is whether you
>match the corporations culture fit
>can keep your mouth shut on things that are above your pay grade
>are able to suck a lot of dick to climb the corporate ladder
>are able to network with the right people who can give in a good word if you ever lose your job

its really that simple

Londoner here, I have public sector aims for the civil service fast stream but the private sector and management consulting is the most enticing alternative to me
For someone in the first year of uni what's the best thing I can do to gain some awareness and contacts, excluding internships?
Also any internship advice would be helpful
>>
Do you work for PwC? Have you received a free iPhone?
>>
>>1055197
I wouldn't call them "free", but we get them after the internship.
>>
>>1055355
Here it is mandatory for every worker, including trainees. I also would definitely call it “free” because almost nobody use them as a professionnal tool. I just got the uprade to iPhone 6S.
