I know some of you have probably done the GMAT before or are studying for it right now.

What did you do? I am looking for advice, should I just read a book, do Kaplan tutoring for freaking thousand + bucks, use torrented videos?

What are you doing right now, any interesting tutor stories?

Any general advice? I am going to begin studying this week. Leaning toward MBA: Marketing but if I get a high quant score definitely finance, I always hated math so not sure if I can hang in finance.

Get the manhattan prep gmat book series. I bought their book set for the GRE and it was the best study series available.

Kaplan and Princeton Review are mediocre

Do not pay to go to tutoring classes. It's a complete scam by any company

They literally only teach you the same shit out of the books. You can get way more out of just buying the books and watching youtube videos.

>700+ reduces your score
When this happens you know the test is bullshit.
>>
Just make sure to do a lot of practice exams, so your pacing improves.

Thank you good sir/madam I'll check those out.

Yeah, 1000 dollars for a online class smelled of bullshit to me too.

I'm going to drill until I can explain the concepts at 3am like my professor in college math said.

Thanks!

>for the GMAT

Why? It is easy as fuck.

Took GAMSAT to get into medicine.

Got a total score of 72 and still declined for medicine.

Fun.

I studied for a total of 3 months treating it like my job.

5 hours a day 7 days a week.

Some dude at Kahn academy went through an entire Official GMAT Practice test book worked out all the questions. It's an older book, so you'll need to buy the book used.

while working full time at my shit manual labor job i studied 2-3 hours a day, 5 days a week, for about 5 weeks. i used manhattan gmat prep material. made two passes through the quant books and only glanced over a few things in the verbal books. took 3 or 4 full length practice tests under realistic conditions.

640 overall (71st percentile)
36 verbal (80th percentile)
41 quant (48th percentile)
6 analytical writing (91st percentile)
7 integrated reasoning (81st percentile)

wish i had studied harder tbhonest. im not a genius but i probably could have come close to a 700 if i had applied myself.

Got a 710 on my first attempt. May or may not retake it in the future. Pretty happy with it though.

CR: powerscore Critical reasoning
SC: OG questions, do only those
RC: just read slowly and understand fully the passage
