It's good for where I live, but I could do much better if I moved to a different part of the country.
>>
Mobile App Dev in Texas @68k.

I am way overpaid though because most other offers I got were between $50k-$60k, but I got a position at a drilling company right before the oil crash and everyone was getting overpaid.

By some miracle I have survived about 3 huge layoffs and our salaries are intact. They are frozen though and I won't be getting a raise until oil comes back up ( I personally think this won't happen anytime soon ), so I'll probably leave soon.

who are you kidding.
Granted I'm European, 80k seems like WAY too much. Average starting wage for people with my education (Masters in Econometrics and Actuarial sciences) get like 35k at best

it's not out of the question in places with ridiculous cost of living.

i was offered $92k to move out to California, but I did a cost of living analysis and most of my other offers were better for the mere fact that I wouldn't spend $2k a month just in rent.

Hey yo,

I don't know shit about business or finance, I'm just a poor little shit on the bottom of the pyramid who wandered in here because I saw your picture on the main page, you understand me?

You are perpetuating a myth.

Those street trucks are WAY more scrutinized and therefore WAY more clean than ANY traditional restaurant.

Street vendor food is always some of the best food, and it's invariably very cheap and very easy and convenient to get it and eat it.

Street food is almost always your BEST option if you can't get home cooking.

I understand that it's just a stupid meme, and yes, I already am well aware that I have Aspergers, I just wanted to point that one thing out to WHOMEVER it may concern, and I'm not all about starting a fight or derailing anybody's thread or anything.

I don't even know you people. This is all just words on a screen.

B.Sc.

8.8k CAD gross with a part time grocery clerk job. Hopefully after I go back to school I'll be working in a hospital lab for 64k/yr, going up to 80-90k if I continue education (M. Sc) and get into management.

I just gotta get there first.

Got a bachelor's in finance and accounting then got my MBA immediately afterwards since I graduated from undergrad in 2009 and the job market was shitty.

Got a financial analyst position at Lockheed Martin for $62M a year. Didn't really like it so I went to work at a community bank as an underwriter for $40k a year. After a few years my salary is now $75k with a bonus up to 30% of my salary based on the Bank's profitability for the year.

It's nice, I have my own office and never have to work more than 40 hours a week. But the sales guys (Client Advisors we call them) are typically retarded when it comes to credit and basic finance.

I just don't get it - you work in banking doing loans for 20-30 years and you still don't know basic credit? If you stuck me on a sailing ship for 30 years, I'd think I'd be a expert seaman by then.

Finance Manager 84k

>>
>>1045013

For people who actually know what's going on, these salaries are not high at all. The U.S. has done a wonderful job is destroying its industrial base and continues to run a policy that favors outshoring, outsourcing, and H-1B visa labor. All of this outsourced work goes to people who are at least 95% crap.

When something needs to get done, these companies have to pay up because smart Americans who see the writing on the wall try to avoid these fields.

The salaries aren't that great when you consider that the life of a STEM worker in the U.S. is about 20 years before they are at risk of being permanently unemployed in their field of study unless they go into management.

Boring as sin, but relatively easy with a decent pay.
