I ask because I've retreated to materialism to find worth (not because I have any money, but because one can objectively be better than others through the conquest of goods) and it hasn't helped at all. Aside from (surprise) not winning the lottery, I can't figure out where on earth to start for making money. I'm 20 with all of no skills (though some college education and ongoing) and no passions, friends, or romantic partners, so I have all of no value otherwise.

Since being rich is the only way I can be content in life, it's the path I want to take, but I'm stuck not knowing which way to go. Start a business? How does one obtain the capital? What sort of business? Invent something? Well, that usually requires experience in a field to know what to look for to invent. What field?

Currently a CE student.

How do you guys keep hobbies? Whenever I find an interest in something, I realize I won't ever gain wealth through it and drop it. Unfortunately, I never find anything and keep it to reach the same goal.

To clarify, I am gainfully employed, but it's just a "wageslave" position, as the terminology goes. It provides no career potential or mobility.

I'd be happy if I had that bowl of noodles.

I wish it were the same for me.

Are you pants on head retarded? Literally 6000 years of eastern reliious philosophy explaining that since all forms are impermanent that the desire for and acquisition of material goods leads to suffering.

Only a 13 year old thinks money will make them happy. Lets break this down realistically.

It costs money to be alive. Hence I am a slave. Thus money buys freedom , either short term or if enough is acquired long term.

Its that simple. Everyone not rich enough to have all their living expenses coverd by others work (stock yields / profits / dividends etc) is a slave. We /biz/ to break free
