I'm looking to get into business and I get the impression business degrees aren't particularly useful (unless in a v good uni/college)
Has anyone done and Econ & Finance degree? what are prospects like?

Yes. Good.
Most people I have seen with these degrees work their ass off. In school they study hard as fuck to get the best grades. They network their ass off everywhere. They join relevant clubs. They intern every chance they get. They search far and wide for the best jobs. At work, they start early and stay late. They make sure their work is on point and accurate. They take care of themselves (eat, drink, and exercise).
You need to understand that a degree does not confer any benefit. It's the work ethic and attitude which is exhibited, in part, by the degree that employer's look for.
Me too and honestly its pretty similar to my current major where u need to network more than staring at books.
Tho im aiming at international biz to work in a film studio or distributor
