I have a couple of ideas for smartphone apps, but I have absolutely no experience in programming. Is there an established market where people with app ideas sell the concept to a developer to produce and then use for their own profit, or would I be better off simply hiring somebody to program it for me and monetize it myself?

learn some java, there are enough tutorials around that will teach you enough to do some easier apps alone. might take a month to learn but its worth it. if you expect that if you tell a programmer your idea and you bring in only the idea and nothing else and you share 50/50 while he is doing all the work...good luck finding this idiot.
