Education related. I'm an American college student majoring in Finance with admittedly low knowledge of the field outside of what I've learned in class.

I'm interested in a few things offered by my Uni, but can probably only choose one, due to excess credit hour restrictions. Choices are a minor in International Business, or a certificate in either Banking, Investments, or Corporate Finance.

I'm most interested in Int'l Business, but I really don't know much about the areas that the certificates are in. Basically if you guys could offer advice on which to pursue, or at least some education on what these areas involve, it would be much appreciated.

Oh, yeah, and I don't care which looks best to employers, I really just want to know which is the most important topic to learn and know well.

What makes it an important topic for you to learn if it is not what looks good to employers? Interest? If it will make you happy?

Overall I would go with a certificate. I am currently doing my masters in Financial Engineering and Management and can tell you that if you do not like to work at a bank, don't go with the banking certificate. Corporate Finance or investments would be nice though. I would probably go for Investments, because that is where I want to go. What kind of job are you pursuing?
