> Go back to school last year after mom and dad said "gtfo"
> living on grannies sofa when I'm not in the dorms, "technically homeless"
> first job is my work-study joke of a job I work 8 hours / wk for $9/hr after my full-time class schedule, which allows me to make up to $2k/yr for the academic year, so... yeah, barely anything

So, I was thinking today I'm probably going to have to file taxes for the first time in my life, and I don't even know where to start googling for direction.

When you get a w2 from the school (the employer) youll file an "ez 1040" on the irs.gov website. It will be free because you made so little. Its very self explanatory

I've been using this program for a few years and it's pretty good. Sponsored by walmart and united way.

that or just go to your local library and pick up a 1040ez form and guide. learn the system and until you get a lot of money you don't need to worry that much. it's really not that hard or big a deal.
