Are there any real "socially responsible" funds out there? I'd like to get a return on my investment but not if it means making executives at Apple / GE / MS / Merck richer.

the biggest dividend stocks are all mega-corporations
if you want money you are going to have to deal with that. They are not offering high dividends just because they are awesome. They want people to stay regardless of the moral and social outcomes in society.

The reason people spend so much time praising companies with a social conscious is because they want to reward them for the fact that they aren't making any money.
