Has anyone ever heard situations where a verbal offer is rescinded? What do I do if I quit my job and they take back their offer?

Can happen. Aggressively follow up with potential new employer to see if still on track and get a written offer. Leave in message that your excited about the opportunity to work there but growing concerned you have not heard anything and if there any concerns on thier end. You would like to know sooner than later.
