I'm currently vested in the Illinois teacher retirement system. I have 25 years until retirement. Is my pension safe?

lol no. Every nonteacher in the state wants to get rid of your pension as it is completely unsustainable. Eventually there will be a constitutional amendment which will get rid of what you have.

God damn. Yeah I figured as much. The general consensus among young teachers is that it won't be there. I've been 'grandfathered' in to an older more beneficial retirement tier, but even then I doubt they will honor the pension itself. I might take the 30% cut and withdraw early.
