Americans really are just like the British. Even now the Brits live in this delusional fantasyland where they are still an Empire or relevant.

Which is exactly how Americans sound today, btw, prefering to live in their own delusional fantasy that America is still the greatest place or best country on Earth when in fact it only is in terms of where the wealthiest choose to live and do business, or militarily in terms of spending (which doesn't correlate to efficacy, mind you, otherwise that money pit called the Middle East would have done something productive or at least been easily won rather than turning into a completely unwinnable fiasco)

The real problem is that Americans act like debt laden heroin addicts, choosing to instead bury their heads in the sand chanting #1 rather than taking an honest appraisal of themselves and recognizing all the areas from improvement, but instead tell themselves everything is fine and great and electing only politicians who enable their delusions as opposed to an actual statesman who tells them the truth and is willing to tackle the problem with hard solutions.
