I am sad about that too I have a bad feeling. First off I just don't think the human mind is built to withstand the type of shit you have to do in modern games. I want to say the boom of 2016 will be Apple Watch 2.0, the 2.0 of all Apple things is always HUGE.
I could see a boom in oil if just one thing happens to fuck with the supply. Plus Oil is severely depressed anyway and wants to go up.
Bust: Older social medias like Twitter and Instagram. Yahoo is a bust. I can see Gamestop losing half its stores by end of year. Physical media is over.

Yeah if anything is going to save VR it has to be something like that Microsoft Hololens. You'll need to be able to see your surroundings easily. Especially in a living room setting. Idk about ptsd and stuff, that really depends on the game I guess. But I see this as another bust like the Wii. It's all great and let's you do stuff that you couldn't before but it's not all there. You still have to move around with a controller and all the other limitations of sitting down in an enclosed space.
So the way I see it, games will come out for it. People will eventually realize the limitations of the system and notice that it's not all there. And support for VR will eventually taper off as less people stop wearing it because it's a hassle.
The Microsoft Hololens is an AR headset but it can be turned to VR by just blacking out the rest of the view. AR can do VR but not the other way around. And since Microsoft seems to have that AR tech on lock, seems like Noone else will be making it sooner to compete with them.
Apple watch is dead. Basically unless apple does something drastically different and takes huge risks nothing is going to change. But they don't need to, they're sitting on a HUGE pile of cash and won't be running out for decades. So they're just going make safe bets on other startups, be very conservative in their spending and cater to their current user base.
