I snuck into the movie.
It's shit but not AS shit as the internet would make you think. That is of course not meant as a compliment. It's completely forgettable and disposable, the only thing "ghostbusters" about it is the title. They literally only bust one ghost, and then just shoot the rest because reasons?
It's an extremely lazy remake, like anyone with a brain would suspect. Beyond it just replacing characters with females - and not even replacing characters, it's simply replacing them with archetypes. The brainy one, the weird one, the loud one, etc. It feels very script-by-committee.
It's unfortunate since especially Wiig is pretty good in most things.
It's boring and forgettable and not funny. It's pretty sad that this has become such a flashpoint issue for tumblr/twitter as they couldn't have chosen to rally behind a more mediocre cash-grab if they tried. The "controversy" is cleary studio manufactured and of course since the internet is the internet, everyone took the bait.
