82nd Airborne here, you're fine OP. Trust me even in Army's first responders we have fat fucks who can't PT for shit. All it takes until the system is changed is to bust tape and be flagged twice for a chapter to initiate and get that lazy ass out. Your run time is on par with the average Airborne runtime. Thats fine. Pushups are fine. You're situps are low but I guess that's the tradeoff for us skinny folk. I think a bit more work there and you will be get a physical fitness badge whilst in BCT/AIT. JROTC will give you nothing but starting out as a PFC instead of E0 pvt, bumps your pay grade quite a bit. Other than that, it gives you recognition. your cousin would need to do a deployment or two before even trying Ranger or SF school. Or he would need to be one charismatic motherfucker and win the hearts of the other battle hardened NCO's and officers in ranger school.
Also, high school JROTC will not make you an officer? Unless you got that mixed up and you meant graduated college under an ROTC scholarship, than he'll be a butter bar, even then I don't think he'll do good in ranger school, maybe as a 1st LT with a deployment or 2.
