And yes it's great to have someone to tell those things you can't tell anyone else. It takes off a lot of the baggage and makes life actually easier. IMO it is worth the hassle.

Look, you are in college, you are working for your own company. You sure have the intelligence and passion that girls love. Just work on your appearence when talking about it. Be open about it. Tell people (not just girls) what you do, what you like, what your dreams are and you will be much much more successful. They will see you as the guy that does something. There are so many people that just let them float around. You're not one of them. Use that!

My first job was for a large global company and I basically got it because I was enthusiastic about what I do. It didn't have anything really to do with the job. But I have that attitude that tells people that I'm a doer. I have passion. I have a unique skillset. And I'm a fast learner. I've always been introvert, but when something's on the table I can change that and get extrovert. It took me alot of working on myself, but today I can switch from being the quiet thinker to being the sales man. The guy that opens the door and is there. Lots of people can't do that because they don't feel that it is them. But that doesn't matter if you can act like it is you. Work on your appearance, show confidence and calmness even if you are insecure and unconfident. People will love you for that attitude. Why? Because basically no one is able to do that. Smile when others are sweating. Laugh when others are crying. Take the stress of others shoulders and they will love you for it. That works for business and for girls.

Don't hate your smile. WORK on it. My smile was insecure and I hated it. I was basically unable to smile like a sane person. But I worked on it infront of a mirror. That's the attitude of a perfectionist and it's a good trait. Just remember that even at 50% you are already better than 98% of all other people. Sometimes good enough IS good enough even though you know you could do it better and better. The key is to know where you have to be perfect and where you don't. See things from a customer's perspective. Unbiased. Same for girls. Girls don't need perfection in 99% of things. They just need a perfect match in very few things and for the rest they are flexible.

I believe in you man. Some of the biggest problems we are facing in developed countries are traffic jam, time waste and waste of resources. Your project tackles the first two, but not yet the third. It has to be resource effective. Not just in energy terms, but also overall.

Also think about connectivity. Lights are necessary because cars aren't connected to each other. They are an archaic form of communication. You are creating a new transportation type. You can build it the way they are all connected to each other, so even when being directly next to and behind each other, traffic lights aren't necessary, since they have the information they need.
