Besides, that was years ago. I make a lot more money in Aus than I would in the US. It's better to make capital here, then bring it over to the US later.
If I get enough capital here in Aus I can move to the US and just sit on investments. Work a relaxed day job part-time to cover grocery bills and shit.

Investing with an inflated dollar into that of a bad housing market like you are suggesting would be a poor decision to make.
