Why is it so unbelievable to you guys. It's not impossible to hack a tv station, especially in the 1990's. And there are tons of terrorist made videos used as propaganda.

In 1992 Osama Bin Laden had a totally different status. His War against America started basically in 1996, the first real terrorist attack was 2000 (USS Cole).

Soooo... i doubt there was any video of that in the US, and i doubt anyone there would recognize him.

If you really want to hunt this down, you have a few choices:

1. Go to the news stations in the area and see what their archives have.

2. Head to the Sacramento library and start sifting through their newspaper archives from 1991-1994.

3. Do a hard core search of Usenet archives.

4. The FCC would have a record of any complaints or investigations regarding the incident if it actually happened. File FOIA with them and see what you get. Leave out the BS bin Laden stuff and just ask about signal interruption.

5. If true, this would have been a a topic of much discussion in the area amateur radio community. Go look through their archives and talk to older members.

I am betting it never happened because if something as tame as Captain Midnight happened and made national news for a week, then something like what your mom claimed to have seen would have been even bigger.
