I hate those people that say "All Energy Drinks can kill you!"

In front of me now, I have an 8.4 ounce can of sugar free redbull.

Looking at the ingredients and nutrition facts, every single thing in this can looks like something that's good for the human body.

>Niacin (Vitamin B3)
>Vitamin B12
>Vitamin B6 (Granted, this is at 250%)
>Pantothenic Acid (Vitamin B5)

All of those seem pretty freaking alright to me. I thought the Taurine might be unhealthy, but doing my own research, it turns out Taurine might actually be something that actually helps with a lot of issues.
>>
>sugat free
so how is it sweet? i can't be sweet from thin air.
oh i see Aspartame.
enjoy your intestine tumor.
>>
People hear about someone dying after drinking energy drinks, whether from caffeine overdose or certain heart problems, and parrot this to everyone they see drinking an energy drink.
>>
>>693932587
But it's not sugar, so it must be healthy.
>>
Teenfoils incoming ,,azprtame mages youre cancer grow"

As much as i have read, negative results were given only by ,,zumbabwe-kind-reseach-studio"

Show me one instance of Aspartame causing an issue with the human body aside from the noted effects on people that suffer from phenylketonuria, which is an ultra rare illness.

Sugar free is cancer.

The main reason they can "kill you" is due to all of the caffeine and stuff, people literally overdose, have heart attacks and die.
>>
>>693931994
A guy I know (not gonna say from where) took two of those and died of a heart attack the same afternoon while playing football. His name is Christian Jaubert. You can find him on facebook or other google search results. Died at 18 years of age.
>>
>>693931994
It's not inherently bad for you but they are dangerous for the heart and are overall a fucking stupid thing to drink, need energy? Drink some black or green tea, coffee, hot chocolate, all are packed with energy or caffeine, no need to take that fucking garbage anon. Do some fucking googling before purchasing garbage drinks like red-pooping-bull
>>
>>693932587
>Actually believing aspartame is bad
Get educated you filthy hippie.
>>
>>693935227
It's 80mg of caffeine per can. Your average cup of coffee can have up to 200mg.

Are you sure he didn't have other problems?
>>
>>693936476
I dont think it was tge caffeine. I heard hevtook viagra too but i HIGHLY doubt that

It takes a very high dose of caffeine to overdose. People who die from energy drinks have pre-existing heat conditions

Is it the sugar free stuff? If not, she could be showing signs of Diabetes.

Ask her if she's needing to take a piss every five seconds and if she's drinking like five liters of fluids a day. Those are the biggest signs.

>>693937267
Only in extreamly high amounts will that cause an issue. You would need to be drinking like 4 two liters a day for your body to take in enough aspartame for it to cause even slight issues.

Look, if it's that bad, just drink diet pepsi. It's Aspartame free now.
>>
>>693937465
It's aspartame specifically. whether it's a drink or gum or whatever, it causes her to experience numbness. I think it's some sort of rare allergy
>>
>>693931994
Never had someone tell me they will kill me.

I drink one 8.4 ounce can per day at work, so 5 per week. Other than that I drink water, orange juice and milk. I have a slim/normal build. No medical issues.

People at work tell me they're bad for me. These people are one or all of the following; alcoholic, smoker, overweight, drink coffee all day.

I don't tell them how to live their life, wish they would fuck off and die.
>>
>>693937560
phenylketonuria

Look it up. It's the only known anything to have an interaction with Aspartame.
>>
>>693937593
>alcohol is fun
>overweight can be a genetic issue (still fucking disgusting)
>coffee is the seed of a fruit

you and the smokers are pretty much in the same boat. consuming poison to get you through the day
>>
>>693937593
My GP tells me all those drinks are poison.
But hey what would a doctor know, right? Is there ANYONE who can tell you what to do?
>>
>>693937764
>overweight can be a genetic issue

Show me an overweight person that eats less than their maintenance count of calories per day, and I'll show you a liar.

For a 6' 0" male weighing in at 200lb. (Overweight) cutting the daily calorie intake down to 1,700 will have them drop down to 160lb.

Math id your friend. Figure out what your sedentary maintenance count is, and then eat less than that for weight loss, more than that for gains.
>>
>>693937764

>overweight can be a genetic issue (still fucking disgusting)

HAHAHAHAH

Calories in, calories out.

>>

side note; I'm 5'9" and 130 lbs. So I'm not saying there isn't anything wrong with fat people, just that it's not as easy for some to be slim as the rest of us. I eat a SHIT TON and I don't gain weight. But my ex gf couldn't eat half of what I can without gaining weight.
>>
>>693938117

>webmc

Are you fucking serious?

Nice sources to research you have there in that article.
>>
>>693937267
Now look up the amount of aspartame you ingest with one drink - as no amount is given on most drinks: my aspartame tablets weigh 90grain per 100 (5.8grams), three are enough to sweeten half a litre of beverage while I suspect them to contain about 50% aspartame - and compare it to LD50 for formaldehyde.
>>
>>693938117
>So if your parents are obese, you’re more likely to be, too.

Yeah, because you live with them and eat what they do for 17-24 years of your life.

Yes, some people have a higher metabolic rate than others. However, they will gain weight from eating 2,000 calories just like anyone else would.

>>693938219
What's your job? Activity level?
>>
>>693937979
What about 5'10 weighing 200. How many calories should be consumed to cut weight?
>>
>>693935584
It's the waste product of a strain of E. Coli. And it tricks your body into raising insulin production to break down the sugar, but it's not sugar. So insulin has nothing to do but sit around. Just that first part should be reason not to ingest it.

Pharmacist here. I've seen so much idiocities written here that I won't explain them to you, I'll just say these drinks are awfully bad for you. Period
>>
>>693938749

Which only gives around 2-300 calories difference to someone without thyroid issues.

My statement still stands.
>>
>>693931994
because Vitamin B poisoning is a thing

you need it in low doses, but its also toxic in high quantities, just like most things
>>
>>693938765
Your maintenance would be around 1800. Eat anywhere less than that and you'll lose weight.

I'd say just cut down to 1700 and see how that goes.
>>
>>693938387
>Gain weight from a 2000 calorie/day diet.
Yeah, because that is how things work. Do you know how little that is? If I did that I would be a walking skeleton.
>>
>>693938862
Do you have any freaking idea how hard it is to OD on vitamin b of any group? And the RDA on those drinks isn't in any way corresponding to maximum daily intake.
>>
inc heart attack
>>
>>693938862
>Typically, 300 mg of B6 is scary territory, while 2000 mg of B3 is risky. For folate, the Institute of Medicine recommends adult men and women not consume more than 1000 mg per day. In order to avoid a vitamin B overdose, make sure you consult your healthcare professional.

Source: https://smartypantsvitamins.com/the-overdose-risks-of-vitamins-why-proper-dosage-matters/

You'd need to drink around five sugar free red bulls back-to-back for it to do anything.

>>693938939
For women, a calorie intake of 1700 is more than enough to support 160 pounds and a some-what active job while being sedentary otherwise. For men, it's 1800 for a mostly sedentary life. You just have to factor in height to get the exact number.
>>
>>693938619
http://www.medicalnewstoday.com/articles/261179.php
Also, like I said, the first part should be a deturrant in itself.
>>
>>693938883
Thank you
>>
>>693938939
Thats enough for a sedentary 80kilogram male.
If you weigh less you will gain weight.
If you weigh more and do at least 5000 steps a day you will lose weight. If you don't move, you body will go into energy saving mode an reduce the base rate from 25kcal/kg body weight down to a rate that allows it to keep your weight up while not doing proper maintenance to your cells.
>>
>>693939315
>Splenda

Splenda is made FROM sugar. Of course it's going to have a reaction.

Use things like Sweet 'n Low (Saccharine) or Equal (Aspartame.)
>>
>>693939419
No worries. You're actually not to far overweight, honestly. If you feel up to it, you'd do pretty good for yourself if you started to try and develop some strength.

I'm not saying show-off style arms and core, but you're probably eating an amount right now that would support a work out. (Just not Cardio)
>>
>>693931994
Yeah you can drown dip shit
>>
>>693939530
Isn't Splenda a form of Sucrose? It pretty much IS sugar.

>People who die from energy drinks have pre-existing heat conditions

>>
>>693941222
For starters it's packed with a shitload of taurine. You may not know it but there haven't been enough clinical studies to prove how harmless it is. A colleague of mine works in analysis and did a study studies on it. The taurine is over ten times ODed in one single drinks than the allowable daily dose. These doses easily lead to strokes, high blood pressure and an overall cardiotoxic effect.
>>
>>693931994
OP, im not gonna judge you, because I think redbull is one of the tamer ones out there
But anything like that, even if it's healthy is made to make you want more of it
This leads to addiction, which is not healthy, physically, mentally, or monetarily.
But if you trust yourself and are willing to listen to an intervention should it come to that point, go for it man
I just like drinking orange juice
>inb4 health faggot

>Up to 3,000 milligrams a day of supplemental taurine is generally considered safe. Moderation is important, however. Little is known about the effects of heavy or long-term taurine use.

You're telling me that 8.4 ounces of Red Bull has over 3,000mg of taurine?
