It's pretty much one big NSA honeypot. They run enough nodes to defeat their own protocol. Still, I prefer their spying to google et al's spying. It's less manipulative. Not that it matters. Not even the TBB can defeat modern browser fingerprinting methods. It would require a lot of work to do that.

I'd just like to interject for a moment. What you’re referring to as Linux, is in fact, GNU/Linux, or as I’ve recently taken to calling it, GNU plus Linux. Linux is not an operating system unto itself, but rather another free component of a fully functioning GNU system made useful by the GNU corelibs, shell utilities and vital system components comprising a full OS as defined by POSIX.
Many computer users run a modified version of the GNU system every day, without realizing it. Through a peculiar turn of events, the version of GNU which is widely used today is often called “Linux”, and many of its users are not aware that it is basically the GNU system, developed by the GNU Project. There really is a Linux, and these people are using it, but it is just a part of the system they use.
Linux is the kernel: the program in the system that allocates the machine’s resources to the other programs that you run. The kernel is an essential part of an operating system, but useless by itself; it can only function in the context of a complete operating system. Linux is normally used in combination with the GNU operating system: the whole system is basically GNU with Linux added, or GNU/Linux. All the so-called “Linux” distributions are really distributions of GNU/Linux.

That's a terrible attitude. People (you) don't appreciate how easily they (you) are manipulated by technology, or how malicious the intent of your manipulators ultimately is. It's not a human intelligence at work. Lets say for example, 2 years from now you're feeling down because of some terrible event in your life, which you will have expressed somewhere online. Doesn't matter where. Could be 4chan, since google can link people to posts. You'll be shopping for groceries, and go to check the price for something or your twitter or whatever. All the ads will be about your life. The coke will have her name. There will be more alcohol, subtly interspersed with shapes that exploit your unique sexual preferences. Some of the ads will be nostalgic, flooding your mind with memories of better days and products you already associate with them, unique to experiences shared by your micro demographic. This is something about yourself no human technically knows, not even you, since it will be automatically derived from your behavior, but it's still a weakness you have that someTHING knows and will exploit. All this information will be planted in your mind in a quick wash of colors and shapes you won't really register, because your attention is occupied. But you'll walk out of the store with 3x as much stuff as you intended, because you want to feel better, and fucking motherbrain knows how you're feeling and where you are. This or something like it will eventually happen to you every week. These things will always play their best hand to make you buy more, and the house always wins in the end. You are giving up free will by degrees by allowing yourself to be tracked and datamined. You are hurting yourself, and everyone measurably like yourself by helping to train these AIs to manipulate you. You are making faceless people rich from it. Use a fucking adblocker, and block all the tracking things you can.

Audio analysis was actually one of the first practical uses of AI, way back before the internet. They trained simple neural net style programs to recognize background noise and static and filer it out of the signal. With modern hardware and software, I imagine it would be feasible to sift through all that chatter to find, say, someone angrily saying certain words, or even a certain person's voice.

Browser fingerprinting allows them to track you across different IPs, using things like the fonts installed on your system and the specific model of your video or audio hardware. There is currently no browser that can totally evade current fingerprinting techniques.

It is conceivable that google could sell a complete record of your posts on 4chan to a background checking agency acting on behalf of a prospective employer.
>how can I take steps to secure my privacy online?
Own a separate computer for lewd shit, not a phone, and configure it to use encrypted DNS requests and TOR exclusively. Never ever let personal data/logins/images/etc enter the lewdputer, or private/lewd sata/logins/images enter any other computer. Failing that, a good PC running a VM could achieve the same result. That seems extreme, and you're right if you think that it shouldn't be that hard, but it currently is. Browser fingerprinting is like an undeletable cookie that identifies your computer and even your local network topology. It's a whole class of exploits with many attack vectors. A tough nut to crack. There's just no easy way right now.

That's only useful to keep your ISP from shutting off your service when you seed, at best. It does basically nothing to protect your anonymity, unless you really know what you're doing. Tor actually does a batter job at that, although it has it's own limitations.
>>
>>693925846
Yeah, that bad. Please add browser fingerprinting to your list of buzzwords, and be aware that it doesn't stop at canvas fingerprinting or even with JS and CSS. HTTP mechanics like user agent strings and e-tags can be exploited as well, even if you scrub them (because then you're the one guy who scrubs them). I think if more people at least knew about it, they'd think it was icky, and demand some kind of protection from it.

I am a security major who has had offers from raytheon blackbird industries, and Philips.

x86, amd 64 are vulnerable, IE they are backdoored.

AMD after 2013, and intel after pentium 4.

You can use libreboot on an old thinkpad, or arm device.

Arm devices are the most secure from spying.

use proxychains with tor, but remember to connect to tor from a public internet connection, or a hacked wifi that is not your home connection with a spoofed mac address.

Don't ever use windows for anything hacking related, windows cd keys identify your computer to the NSA, and with windows 10 unique PC id's also identify your system to the NSA.

In the show they use tricks that are common knowledge, but they don't really discuss methods to make sure you aren't traced.

Hacking from your home isn't safe ever, but using windows or a modern x86 cpu is even worse.

old hardware is safe, but remember if you're downloading pre-compiled software you're no longer safe, even linux mint was compromised.

you should always compile your own software on your hacking thinkpad, and make sure not to do any hacking on a system with any of the google browsers installed.

VPNs can also be NSA honeypots, you may be signing up to be monitored, this is why using a public wifi or hacked wifi is important.

Skype is a built in trojan horse as well.

Win 10 is too!!

>ALL MICROSHIT IS

I think the work that needs doing is beyond you at this point. Also, more widespread awareness is needed, and fear is justified. Google is not the NSA. They should not be able to do what they're doing, let alone the other scummy tracking networks like addthis.

>Arm devices are the most secure from spying.
False.
The hard floating point instruction extension on ArmV7 on up is vulnerable to a OOBE attack.

>grey hat reporting in

Raytheon is shit, btw. PLA Unit 66384 runs circles around them.
>>
>>693927328
>x86, amd 64 are vulnerable
They contain proprietary firmware. I don't recall hearing of any actual backdoors that could be exploited without physical access, though.
>ARM
Phones run on ARM. Be clear what you mean.
>>
>>693928000
Arm devices are more secure than x86, which has a built in cpu for allowing remote connections, also arm devices some chipsets support libreboot.

Ok, so buy another burner top to play on

>Main top is ment for "life bullshit" and stupid people which I deal with IRL anyway
>I use my main top for dumb shit like 4chin, screwtube, craigstits, and scr-ebay so they can know I drive a streetbike.......and have a truck and like rock music.....thats all they get from me......i know what I want and need out of life I dont need nor want their help in dictating ads to sell me shit through spying on my likes and interest

>which has a built in cpu for allowing remote connections
Considering there's zero silicon to back up that claim of yours, and since wedging an equivalent IPMI BMC into a traditional CPU wouldn't fucking work because BMCs are tailored for the mainboard...no.

You talk about insecurity but fail to comment on RDRAND/RDSEED instruction sets/PRNGs.

A "remote connection" on a device that doesn't speak anything except manchester encoding is a literal logical and physical impossibility. You're talking about Layer2+ actions, Layer4 if you want routability.
>>
>>693928038
Yea but it takes 15 minutes remotely (Tops) to pop a phone and have /root/ on it. I did it to mine and timed it......took 12:52 from start to cam snap and mic recording

>Cant be that secure

And if I had physical access and wanted to.......30 seconds
>>
>>693928194
no

http://boingboing.net/2016/06/15/intel-x86-processors-ship-with.html

an actual dedicated cpu setup to allow remote access, that can send data through your firewall which is recovered by google and microsoft servers.

If this junk isn't needed for my mobo to function, i'd love to remove it. I suppose it's not that simple though, is it?

Sounds like I want a firewall box running on uncompromised hardware.

Wasn't interested in A+ or firmware.....not my area. I liked the way shit was in 95....I liked when code was that a code....a puzzle.

>I "Could" make firmware "My Puzzle" and be successful if I felt like it....but it's a different language to me...I don't understand it as well. The other comes natural......idk it's wired.
>Understanding "how it talks" is easier than "What parts make it talk" in a less than thought out kinda way

And the OS part is just tricks learned along the way....not impressive.....but better than 99% of the regular population.

>Scary shit

all you faggots going through so much trouble to stay anonymous, its laughable. you always have to find the hard way to do something, just to be a special snowflake. you literally just have to click once to put google chrome into incognito mode, why you dipshits want to run 1980s laptops on snowflake linux builds is 200% retard grade autism
