It's an post apocalyptic fps with a some what open world and RPG elements, set in radio active Chernobyl after the accident.
There is a story line that progress.you towards the reactor and through abandoned cities and military/bandit bases.
I really enjoyed the atmosphere, if you ever played Gothic, its similarly dark and gritty.

Well anyway, as a huge fan of the stalker series, played all three on master difficulty and can say that the AI is dissappointing without mods, but get a few of them bad boys installed and it becomes the best postapoc game ever made
Also, the game feels much more vibrant if you understand russian

I didn't get in on TF2 until it went F2P but I spent so many great hours in it. Never took the game seriously, but I've found a new appreciation for it since Overwatch. Also it appears Valve is not going to just let Blizz step in on their territory and are actually paying a lot of attention to TF2. Competitive, class pack, etc. This is wonderful. I hope they add a new MvM map after the Heavy/Pyro update.

Why are so many people listing Bioshock 1? It's honestly shit when placed next to the other two games in the series. Take off the nostalgia goggles, the controls in this game were abysmal.

You should expect them to play any Stalker game since they are developed like shit.
Those russian developers seriously dont know how to deliver a story to the player and of course have no budget for graphics, voice acting, some other activities except the main story or pointless scavenging with like 8 hostile creatures that you can encounter.

It's far more advanced in certain aspects but lacks others completely what completely destroys the game for the bright audience and thats why nearly nobody except russians played this franchise.

I just played the last Stalker. Great that people still mention Gothic since that was my idea to post.
