Honestly, until they make some major breakthroughs in gameplay and design, they're pretty much all just reskins of warcraft.... very little originality and a shitton of grinding and repetition.

I played the living shit out of warcraft up until cataclysm, then stopped and never looked back. There's only so much you can "kill X amount of these guys", "find X amount of this item", "escort this dude", etc....

Nothing fundamentally new has been added that had attracted players in the way arena (added in bc) or achievements (wotlk) did. WoW is still king imo, i quit wow since the end of Wotlk because of life reasons. Ive found really good friends there that i met irl. What i loved about wow was the PvP(arenas) and that you could customize your character to your liking and even take PvE trinkets and PvE gear into PVP. The split into factions is also really well done, each one has deep story. And i also loved how you could encounter enemies while questing. Also the quests are a lot better than in some modern mmos

It has higher rates then original runescape but they're not silly high rates.. to max out combat it would take say a month or two of dedicated play of hours every day. Non combat skills are even slower rates.. it's achievable to get high levels but it would take months rather then years basically. I've been playing for months and I am maxed in some combat stats but still have along way to go, still tonnes of things to do and pvping.

You can donate and receive slight benefits but it's nothing ridiculous. It's a very well thought out server with some cool features such as hotspot areas that give parties that hold certain areas xp bonus but are risky as any level can attack you and it's globally announced when you hold that hotspot.
