I actually enjoy my job - mostly due to the management. I've been mechanically inclined since I was very young. My grandfather got me into cars and I started working at Goodyear when I was 16 and bounced around mechanic shops til I was 19 and landed with Penske. ~45k USD is plenty for me to live off of, plus my wife has a very solid career so we're doing well. Even if I didn't like it, I'm not really good at anything else besides getting high or running far. Can't get a job with either of those skills.

Its not a camera, its a distance+angle measuring instrument. Most of them these days are robotic so you will more commonly see one person instead of a 2 person team.

Before they were robotic they were called theodolites, now they are called total stations. They get very expensive these days, my one is about $40k plus a $10k GPS unit.
They DO NOT take photos.

Stidy spatial science or straight up surveying if you want to be qualified in it. I have no qualification, im largely self taught/learn onthe job, though that is a hard path to take.

Surveyors are needed everywhere. Land surveyors go anywhere on land and work with titles/title law, construction surveyors work on building sites making sure everyone is putting shit in the right place, engineering surveyors do a lot with underground services, hydrographic surveyors go out on the sea with radar gear, its varied.

Im a straight up land surveyor, i make maps/3d models of terrain for construction companies so that they can plan how to build shit, though have done some construction work in the past on high rises.

Having a strong understanding of math and geometry is a must.

No free cookies here sorry mate. It's real work.

First you need to learn what you will buy. I'm specialized in vintage collectibles.

Then you need to figure out where to buy from.
Ebay is not good for buying because sellers are mostly professionals. Some do mistakes or some do sell cheap.
Then you need money to start buying. (You can basically start with 10 usd but it will take time and you cannot do mistakes)

Selling is easy. Just know your prices. Take good photos and stock your fucking warehouse full because if you going to ask high prices the stuff don't move so fast so you need have a lot of stuff 200-300 ads minimum.

But once you get it going it's easy because I love what I do and I want to do it.

For someone living in a non-tipping culture it feels really weird that your paycheck from the company is only half of your payments.

Landscaping

Do you travel at all landscaping /b/ro, or is it mostly local? We do a lot of local shit but when we travel the jobs usually are much bigger and pay better. And I stay in hotels for free, usually hit the bar up and find some random pussy. I love the out of town jobs

Taxes. Any tips on card get taxed and I only make $8.5/hr and $0.75/delivery.

The store I work at is very busy and I average 2-3 deliveries per hour with a 2-4 dollar average tip. Really good money with no training necessary

Nobody reports all their tips, but I knew a guy that started over-reporting his tips so that he could qualify for a house.

All the tips people leave on card, and any cash tips you choose to report get added to your check as additional income and then the whole thing is taxed.

The government take 20% of every penny I tell them I make, and then they give me about 20% of that back at the end of the year, so overall about 16% lost to taxes

Sorry for ignorance.

forgot to mention that you get the money that people leave on card the same day. Net effect is that the taxes you owe on that money is taken out of your hourly pay. basically what should be a $500 check is actually a $400-450 check instead

The government won't pursue tax evasion for amounts of less than $10,000/yr per person. If I make more than that in undeclared cash tips and the government finds out about it they'll send someone to do an audit. If the auditor finds evidence of tax evasion, you may be ordered to pay back-taxes, fines, or do some jail time depending on magnitude and intent.

For the most part you have to do something stupid first, like put a shitload of money in your bank account, to raise a red flag and get audited though
>>
>>693017744
Just outta curiousity what are your taxes like? I hear people who make between 60,000 100,000 can get really fucked over, want to know if its true or not.
