Use an airtight container and stash it in your glovebox. If your glovebox has a lock, make sure to lock it. If you get pulled over for whatever reason and the cops want to search your car, let them know you lost the key to the glovebox. They'll need a search warrant for that. First off. You're not smuggling.
Second stay under 99 grams to avoid felony possession in most states.
Third don't make a trap door to hide it in because that's a felony in most states. Forth keep it sealed, keep it in the trunk, and don't smoke weed or drink the entire drive home to avoid a probable cause search
Fifth if you do by chance get pulled over sack up and act like you didn't do anything wrong and use some yes sirs to show that you respect that fine officer. If asked to give consent to a search decline and when they ask why just say you have the right to decline.

In kansas I've had cops tell me that not giving consent to search your car is considered probable cause to search your car and you will be searched. They will pull you over for anything. Also know that most drug dogs give false positives on command. So if a dog happens to be with the unit that pulled you over listen very carefully to how the officer speaks to the dog. Every time a dog is involved it will give an alert for contraband.
