I have a receding hairline, but it looks like I have a super pronounced widows peak. I'm not losing any hair on my crown, it's just receding on the left and right sides of my forehead. The center is still mostly intact but it's starts to recede a little bit too. It makes me look old(er), and I don't like the way it looks when my hair starts to get longer.
I might try taking medication in the future if it gets too bad but I'm not too worried about it in its current state.

My grandad was bald so that always kinda kept me on edge so when I noticed it starting around 20 I just went onto minoxidil and a better diet. Go buy a decent one, not just some cheap crap from Walmart. I'm partial to Penguin brand myself. It should fit down on top of your ears and fit pretty snugly on your head. The snap-brim drivers caps can look good too, though I mostly save those for if I dress slightly nicer.

Fucking pisses me off going to the barber and paying full price only to have the sides and back clipped because the top won't grow anymore.

Realized I was balding at 20. Looking back I can see it started at 17. Went on fin within 6 months and eventually started using rogaine as well. I had enough hair to convincingly conceal my loss (which was primarily at the temples) by combing it forward. After about 10 years of concealing it (which takes it's toll on you) I finally took the plunge and got a transplant. It's the best thing I ever did, and I wish I'd have done it sooner. Combed my hair straight up to give a better sense of how much I'm working with these days. Sides and back are shaved.

Buy some Wahl clipper like the hair dressers use and just run them over your head every few days. Only hair product I still use is dandruff shampoo, keeps the scalp from getting to dry in low humidity weather.
