My first pistol was an FN FNP-9m. I switched to carrying Glocks after a couple years; the striker is a faster, more accurate first shot for me than DA/SA ever was, and I shoot comparatively high volume; never less than 500 rounds a month and typically about a thousand, for the last six years. Oddly enough, most Taurus USA models are made here in america, and they've spent the last few years working hard in making them a lot nicer. They're still not my favorite brand, but their newer pistols are nice and reliable. The Taurus carbine is a joke tho.

Those are all absolutely garbage guns.

Avoid any .22 which is modeled after it's centerfire big brother. Sig Mosquito, Walther P22, any of the HK/Colt/GGG/Walther .22s.

Get something that is a bespoke .22 from the start, like a S&W Victory, a Ruger Mark or Browning Buckmark.

A Glock would be cheaper. Hell a used Glock and a new .22 conversion kit would be cheaper. But I'd suggest handling some both .22 and center fire stuff that maybe your friends or family have and making your own choice. Or hit a range and rent a gun for the day. Cheap as fuck, will run any cheap .22 ammo, and is ungodly accurate.

It's a good starter pistol, but a.complete pain in the ass to break down and clean. There are vids of it being done, so it's not impossible to do yourself.
