MMA vs Boxing. Which one is better ?
>>
>>691516289

Better for what?
>>
i don't understand the question.
>>
>>691516440
For entertainment.
>>
Shoving your balls up your asshole and clenching yourself castrated
>>
For entertainment I would say MMA.
>>
When the fight is good and evenly matched, boxing.
For just watching most fights mma.

Boxing is the better sport though
>>
>>691516289

Are you fucking retarded? Boxing is a Martial Art and MMA is a sport in which people use multiple Martial Arts to fight each other. Usually MMA fighters learn BOXING, Muay Thai, BJJ, and Judo.
Boxing is a subset of MMA, which is a sport not an individual Martial Art. Get your shit together m8
>>
>>691516577

MMA is easier to wrap your head around, very bro oriented

boxing is more of a chess match and a lot of context is necessary to really enjoy a boxing match.
>>
>>691517165
You sound fucking retarded. Boxing is a sport...
>>
>>691517232
Jiujitsu is easier to wrap your head around than throwing punches? Lol ok.
>>
>>691517054
The best mma has to offer is way better than the best boxing has to offer.

Boxing is the sport of punching. MMA is the sport of fighting.
>>
Style doesn't have anything to do with it. It's about making the right choices there and then. Don't try to box a boxer, or judo a judoka. Bring boxers to the ground and kick judoka in the face! Beat them with the skills they lack.
>>
>>691517619
You must not follow boxing. The best in boxing are leagues better than the best in mma. Not saying that they would win in a street fighter. But the talent level of the boxing Elite is insane. The only problem with that fucking Sport is the promoter politics. Very rarely to the best fight the best.
That's where ufc is refreshing, they can force their best to fight the best.
>>
>>691517475

You know what I'm saying, MMA matches are over quicker and have a higher entertainment value.

boxing (GOOD boxing that is) feels more like a chess match.
>>
>>691517865
They are both the sports of fighting. Punching = fighting
>>
MMA has boxing plus Kicking, Wrestling, Jiujitsu, ewblows and knees. It's pretty self explanatory which one is better.
>>
>>691518136
Boxing is a very limited form of fighting.
>>
>>691518092
There are plenty of chess match fights in MMA. It all depends on who the 2 fighters are.
>>
>>691516577

For entertainment boxing hands down.

ManonManAction is more functional in the street though.
>>
>>691517953
>You must not follow boxing. The best in boxing are leagues better than the best in mma.
What do you mean by this? They are leagues better at boxing? In that case no shit.
>>
who /thurman/ here
>>
>>69151846
Can't argue with that, but at least most boxers aren't shells of their former selves after a couple of years. MMA is seriously the dumbest hobby to get in to. You get paid garbage even at the upper echelon. I'd rather watch two guys who are on the same playing field, scrapping and throwing bombs, then two dudes hugging on each other trying to cut their opponents with weak ass elbows.
To each their own.

Found the guy who watched some Mike Tyson highlights and has never watched a high level mma fight.
>>
>>691518775
I mean in terms of talent. It takes a smart mind to duck and maneuver to avoid getting hit with night ending shots, in mma you just have to land a lucky knee/elbow and it's night night. Too many factors that prevent it from being a pure talent sport. Last guy that I saw with a genius mind in mma was Anderson Silva. All I see now are haymakers and lucky shots.
>>
>>691518840
I was when the fight was announced, but I think Porter is gonna grind out a decision.
>>
>>691518923
You realise not all MMA fighters are Jiujutsu specialists? It's all match ups. Also boxing is way more dangerous for your brain. In mma when you get a knocked out, you are done. In boxing they make you stand up and fight with a concussion. There has not been anyone in MMA in the condition Ali was for example.
>>
>>691516289
mma when you're young and think they are super fighters then boxing when you realize mma is mainly luck rather than actually being better fighter
>>
Boxing
>>
>>691519472
Yeah, I realise that, but most fights I've seen go to the ground.
I can't argue with the brain damage, which is why we're seeing more defensively minded fighters. This is one of the reasons where a good referee can save a life/career. I was more talking about the damage on their physical bodies.
>>
>>691519238
So because it is easier to not get hit in Boxing it has more talent? How does that make sense?. In mma you need to be careful of kicks, flying knees, getting submitted. You can't fool around.
>>

MMA is entertaining.

I prefer boxing.
>>
>>691516289
Boxing, if they didnt have those big padded gloves than matches would be over in literally seconds
I will say however mma is more rounded because it incorporates kicking and fighting on the ground
Boxers are useless with their back against the ground but an mma fighter depending on what they know could pull something out of it
>>
>>691520193
Yeah, watching people like Canelo refuse to fight people like GGG is fun... At least in MMA the best fight the best.
>>
>>691518991

I've seen plenty of both. I know the grappling is important. I just prefer to watch stand up. Boxing is more of a game and thus more entertaining to me.

You know it's possible to like one without shitting on the other you unbelievable dickhead?
>>
>>691520129
I don't think it's gonna be easy for either guy. Thurman doesn't handle pressure well, that's all Porter does. Now if Keith vastly improved his foot game he will get the win, but I don't know if he can stop Porter from sticking to his chest and ripping the body.
Also, Kell Brook is probably the best fight not named Mayweather at Welterweight. I didn't expect Porter to win that. Kell would shit on Thurman hard too.

Do I like boxing?
Or do I like boxing + kicking + knees + elbows + wrestling + BJJ.
Things that make you go hmmmmm
>>
>>691520491
Dude, there is a reason champions don't stay on the top very long. ANY knee or elbow or punch could sleep you at any second.
Look at that Aldo vs McGregor fight, Aldo is the much more well rounded and most likely better fighter, but he got caught on the chin with a lucky shot with those this ass gloves. Not saying McGregor couldn't have won it without that shot, but it's a sport that sees knockouts left and right.
>>
>>691521855
>Dude, there is a reason champions don't stay on the top very long
Currently look at Demetrious Johnson, Jon Jones and Dominick Cruz. Historically also look at GSP, Silva, and Fedor.
>ANY knee or elbow or punch could sleep you at any second.
So can any punch.
>Look at that Aldo vs McGregor fight. The fight that ended witha a punch?
>>
>>691516289
Same sex?
MMA fighter wins
>Cross sex
Average male fighter will win the best female in MMA every combination possible every time
>>
>>691522111
I can't argue with those facts, but in the majority of fights I feel as if you can never safely pick someone. There are so many variables.

It's a more punishing sport, you can't get away with too many mistakes at the highest level.
>>
>>691524065
Silva was the highest level in my eyes. I can't wait till another guy with his skill set comes to the middleweights.

I wish I could post my webms but they are too large :/
>>
>>691525283
Highest level stand up for sure. GSP was more well rounded though.
>>
>>691525441
You might be right, I just wish they fought when they were both near their primes.

I just like stand up more. I really dislike the ground game. I get that it's crucial to the sport and you must have a good grasp on it to compete at higher levels, but it's just so ugly to watch.
>>
>>691516289
asinine question. an mma fighter is ALSO trained in boxing... that's like asking what's better, a hand full of gold and diamonds or a hand full of gold?
>>
boxing of course
>>
an average mma fighter would beat the best boxer in the world to death in a street fight.
>>
>>691526235
Have you seen an MMA fighter try and legitimately box? Any current journeyman boxer would trash 90% of them in boxing.
>>
>>691526511
Idk about that, with no gloves, a quick boxer would sleep most people with 1 punch.
However, there are too many variables. Apples and Oranges my man.

I can see watching someone using the ground game to stall being off putting. But when a high level guy chokes bitches it's good, even better when Rogan is commentating so he explains what's going on for people unaware.
>>
>>691517165Haha, really? You should know, I have some serious skills. Not even kidding bro, you do not want to mess with me. I've studied in depth all the fighting styles of Europe, India, Southeast Asia, etc, I have completely mastered Kali, Systema, Judo, fencing, Wing Chun, Panantukan, Muay Thai, Jujitsu, Karate, Sambo, boxing, Pencak Silat, Krav Maga, ninjutsu, and wrestling. I was in the military for 7 years and survived shit you can't even imagine. I have faced off against opponents on the street, on the battlefield, been in knife fights, gun fights, bar fights, gone into the ring against MMA fighters, and even won a machete fight. Any one of the guys I've beaten would completely destroy you without breaking a sweat - but against me they tried their absolute best, and lost. Now I've gotten my ass kicked time and again. But I certainly gave just as good as I got, and always came out on top no matter what it took. So if you think some insecure little beta faggot such as yourself can stand a chance against me, GOOD. It'll make the defeat that much more satisfying. Bitch.
>>
>>691516289
Neither are "better", both are great to watch depending on what you enjoy more. I enjoy the "anything goes" (other than biting, pinching, and scratching) and unpredictability of MMA rather than the "sweet science" of boxing. I feel like boxing is more predictable. If Connor Mcgregor were to actually box Mayweather, he would get starched, but it would be a different story if they had an MMA match. (source: Randy Couture vs. James Toney)
>>
>>691517953
TLDR; boxing is older than MMA, which means expert boxers have more control over their craft than expert MMA fighters.
>>
Boxing used to be better but americans couldn't deal with the fact that heavyweight boxing, the only weight class that matters, was being dominated by the Klitchko's. They had to ruin it by hyping up that little nigger Floyd to the point where people seriously believe that he's better than their all time heavyweight greats like Ali, Tyson etc. What a fucking joke, americans destroyed boxing.
>>
>>691528071
I'm aware of this. Did my post indicate otherwise?
>>
>>691528115
Floyd was really good though, it's just him being a counter puncher that made him not so entetaining to watch.

The difference between boxing and mma is very simple. MMA guys fight with all parts of the body, and Boxers fight with their brain
>>
>>691529499
Totally agree there. I've never seen anyone neutralize an opponent like Mayweather has. I don't like watching him fight, but I'd be lying if I didn't say that the man is an absolute master. His reflexes are out of this world. I respect the hell out of him, but I won't be paying for his next bugatti lol.

Fact fact: you fags wouldn't have ever heard of Floyd if he wasn't american, that's how """great""" he is. He's a tiny midget in an irrelavant weight class with other tiny midget boxers like Manny Pacquito that you wouldn't have heard ever heard of if you didn't watch Floyd's fights. You're all falling for the artificial hype that's being created around him for the sake of making money. Comparing that midget to any heavyweight boxer is like comparing a kids push buggy to a real car.

A MMA fighter either won't let you get close enough to punch him (Kick you right in the face) or would just take the boxer down and choke his ass, brake a limb, spine.
>>
>>691530824
is this a poor attempt at bait? I've boxed since I was 4 lol, I've heard of every boxer that's been active in the last century. How can it be artificial hype if other professional boxers, amateurs and just fans of boxing in general watch episodes of Floyd Mayweather film study to get better?. His boxing skill is not matched, I guess you've just never been in the ring to understand how truly talented that man is. Heavyweight boxing is dead. the last talented heavyweight was Lennox Lewis, however Luis Ortiz looks promising
>>
>>691526897
that is exactly what i think, mma fighters know how to punch but a boxer punch is way on another level, its faster and it hits like a truck. also their combos are fucking deadly on the street. as you said without gloves, it he hits you on the wrong spot, you are RIP.

Wladimir was awful that night, nobody would have ran from him. I'm just hoping the old man starches Fury in the rematch.

>>691534682
Go on then, I want to hear what the guy with no experience in boxing, mma or street fights has to say.
>>
>>691534259
so the niglet appears again.
ITS A FUCKING STREET FIGHT of course there is going to be a fucking weight difference, fuck sake mate
>>
>>691535010
I don't know if AJ could win, but no way Fury makes easy work of it.
>>
>>691517475
> Thinking boxing is just throwing punches

BJJ is very technical, I agree - but you clearly have no idea what you're talking about.
>>
>>691535010
you are seriously deluded. fury is a whole tier above joshua right now. unless joshua fights someone that isn't a total bum then that won't change.
>>
>>691535036
Well firstly, I was blue belt in jiu jistu, fought in 2 comps. I've done boxing since I was 4, had many amateur bouts and fought in 6 comps. All I ever see is guys saying "Any MMA fighter would turn this boxer into a pretzel in a REAL fight" or "Man boxers would literally get killed against an mma fighter" yet everytime I spar with an mma fghter it never goes like that. ever
>>
>>691535357
If you are talking about resumes, then yes, he is a tier above him.
But not in terms of skill and power. It's a 50/50 fight to me.
>>
>>691535120
Ok? Why did you instantly have to give the boxer the advantage though?
>>
>>691535454
A guy that has been training Muay Thai for a month and BJJ for 3 does not classify as a MMA fighter FYI.
>>
>>691535849
Fair point, but I've sparred guys that have purely done karate, and honestly I don't even classify karate as a combat sport after that. All I'm saying is in the mma vs boxing fights I've been in/seen with my own eyes, it never ends in a submission or some fly kick knockout
>>
>>691535653
i only follow closely Heavy weight Boxing, the other ones its kinda Meh for me, and McNuglets as far as i heard was the best Nigger of MMA
>>
>>691536456
Oh god, who did you hear that from? He isn't even top 10 p4p.
>>
>>691536609
19-19 for the Porter/Thurman fight so far.
If Thurman doesn't stay off those ropes he is in for a looooonnnnggggg night.
>>
>>691536397
How about when 2 pros do it (Toney vs Coture) . As long as the MMA fighter isn't retarded enough to try and box the boxer *cough8*Tim Syvlia*cough* he should be good.
>>
listen people everyone here try to play like he is a expert in street fighting and an Martial artist on the same level as Bruce Lee, GTFO, If all the "masters" here ever been in a fight with some one who knows what he is doing, you would not be talking shit like this, MMA, Muai Thai, Jujutsu, Boxing... its all in the fighter, its all in the technique, you all MOFOS talk like we putting to fight some robots with the same specs, its not like that quit this shit and gtfo

28-27 Porter. Keith landed a hard ass shot at the end of 3rd round though.
>>
>>691537017
niglet doesn't get the sarcasm
>>
>>691537420
Stopped reading after the first sentence.
>>

37-37. Thurman is finding a home with his shots. Porter needs to move his head more coming in. And keep his fucking right hand glued to his chin on his way in.

Get real man, no one would study FM's technique if he wasn't american and if FM was some filipino chink and Vitaly Klitchko was american (and black) you would all be studying Vitaly's technique instead.

What the fuck did you just fucking say about me, you little bitch? I’ll have you know I graduated top of my class in the Navy Seals, and I’ve been involved in numerous secret raids on Al-Quaeda, and I have over 300 confirmed kills. I am trained in gorilla warfare and I’m the top sniper in the entire US armed forces. You are nothing to me but just another target. I will wipe you the fuck out with precision the likes of which has never been seen before on this Earth, mark my fucking words. You think you can get away with saying that shit to me over the Internet? Think again, fucker. As we speak I am contacting my secret network of spies across the USA and your IP is being traced right now so you better prepare for the storm, maggot. The storm that wipes out the pathetic little thing you call your life. You’re fucking dead, kid. I can be anywhere, anytime, and I can kill you in over seven hundred ways, and that’s just with my bare hands. Not only am I extensively trained in unarmed combat, but I have access to the entire arsenal of the United States Marine Corps and I will use it to its full extent to wipe your miserable ass off the face of the continent, you little shit. If only you could have known what unholy retribution your little “clever” comment was about to bring down upon you, maybe you would have held your fucking tongue. But you couldn’t, you didn’t, and now you’re paying the price, you goddamn idiot. I will shit fury all over you and you will drown in it. You’re fucking dead, kiddo. Hope you read all that.

47-46 porter.this is a great fight. Back and forth action.
>>
>>691516289
Boxing would be better if it was more about in-ring skill and less about marketing.

Matches like Hagler/Hearns, Ward/Gatti, Basilio/Robinson are all more entertaining than anything I've seen in MMA.

Unfortunately, a lot of the corrupt forces that brought down boxing are working to bring down MMA as well.

57-55 Porter
>>
>>691538376
Let me guess, the only fight you have watched is Kimbo Slice vs Dada5k
>>
>>691538740
Let me guess, you drink a lot of Monster energy drink drive a Japanese car.

I've been watching MMA regularly for nearly ten years and I'm familiar with the sport since the days of Royce Gracie. When boxing is good, it's better than anything MMA has to offer.
>>
>>691538687
67-64 porter. He's grinding Thurman down. Idk if Keith can keep up with the aggressiveness
>>
>>691539318
77-73 porter
>>
>>691531174
Sanchez allways get cut
>>
>>691521855
You clearly don't know much about MMA. In the example you just gave Aldo vs. McGregor, Aldo was the reigning champion for over 10 years..
I would classify that as a long time.
