I mean well....

I lived in that country (Korea) from 2009-2012. I truly 'found myself' there, and dreamed of going back every single night since. Well, last December, I finally got the chance to, and went on a week long vacation. Alone. It was everything I had been dreaming about plus more. I went back to my old apartment (lived there with parents), walked in my old city, went to most of the places I used to go to, etc. I wanted to cry often, and kind of did when I got back to my hotel room. But, when I saw my apartment for the first time in years...I couldn't cry. Not sure if it's because of how cold or tired I was (it gets BALLS cold in the winter in Korea), but I just couldn't cry. Even today, I still dream about Korea every night. Clear, vivid, lucid dreams. I hate waking up and realizing I'm not there.

No. Most of the Far East is pretty safe; I was able to walk home in the middle of the night with shades and earbuds in, for example. Middle of the night. i read the whole thing after seeing the replies and 99.9% of the time i never read those long ones because fuck that. i enjoyed reading it, i felt a really comfy vibe from it in the beginning parts until near the end but it didnt hit me, i was sort of expecting something like that probably. but i honestly just can't believe any of these stories actually happening. i think it's all fake as shit.

Not sure if you're still in the thread. I just got back from a 50 day stint in Korea with the army. I spent most of my time in Dongducheon but traveled through all the major spots in Seoul(freakin loved itaewon). But we did a lot of our training in the back country where it was just farms as far as you could see. I loved that place man. You get a real grip on what's important when you're in some tiny little town that spans maybe a few kilometers and you see these people living these simple no fuss lives. They're not worried about who the kardashians are or what trend is popular right now. Where was your mom stationed? We had trouble with military protesters up north close to the dmz but the rest of country was very welcoming. I had the opportunity to parachute out of a helicopter with the ROK special forces and those dudes are absolute badasses.

I watched the last episode of this show that'll ever air, and damn its got me in the feels today. It made me think a lot about my own life due to past experiences I'd rather not talk about, what the meaning of life really is, how we all die, etc.
Anyways, it was the only show me and my father ever watched together and now that's ruined.

Background info to image: Man pictured is harold. He made an AI that can oversee everything and anything. Someone made rival AI for the same goal, yet combating Harold's 'machine'. One of Harolds friends was named root. She died fighting Samaritan, the other AI. The same episode she died it, Harold and root decided to let the machine have a voice, and was completely up to the machine to choose a voice. When root died, the machine chose her voice. Anyways, to take down Samaritan, Harold had to upload a virus that would also take the machine. It would kill both AI's. The machine knew this, and pushed harold to upload the virus. Anyways, since it had Roots voice, he was talking to 'her'/the machine on the roof top before the last Samaritan servers would blow the building up. He later learned it was a set up to put him on the wrong building so one of his other friends would die (John) who had basically sacrificed himself for harold. When Harold was shot in the gut, he had a conversation with the machine before she died. He thought he was talking to root. Harold was fixed up later, Samaritan was killed, along with John and the machine.

It was a very powerful episode to me on life. Discussing how we all die alone, but only if we don't do something to make someone love us or remember us. Idk, just hit me in the feelionies.
