>>690097566
As opposed to that awesome, smart, straight, young woman guitarist that we all love.
By the way, there is a female guitarist worth noting here. In the same vein as AAL.
Sarah Longfield
Solo stuff is good, but here is an AAL cover:

>>690098145
Too... much... talent...
Jimmie Hendricks.
>>690098097
Pink Floyd was literally so boring they had to put on a fucking play because none of them have any stage presence Or fucking balls
I can't believe none of you plebs have mentioned Lil' Wayne.
Seriously though, Prince was an amazing guitarist.
>>690098241
LMAO, dude. You are trying WAY too hard.
>>690098202
…
That's Little Wayne you absolute dumbfuck.
>>690098263
Some of the greatest guitarists of all time said that about him and they were right.
>>690097941
Really? I'm so sorry for you not being able to understrand this music.. see, you'll need something beneath your hair which you obviously do not posses.
>>690098317
Welcome, newfag.
Enjoy your stay.
For your own good, don't say anything until you've learned the language.
>>690098263
Prince was pretty bad ass

>>690098491
What, like "meme" and "raid"?
>>690098241
>Stage presence is required to be a God tier guitarist.
If you want stage presence, go watch Gorgoroth and tell me they have a god tier guitarist.
>>690098307
Keep lying to yourself
>>690097915
>>690098573
Gilmour gave an incredible tribute to prince

>>690098241

There
Pic related is pretty much the inventor of neoclassical metal.
>>690097642
My nigga.
>>690098699
Okay, then you're trying way too soft?
I'd hate to lie to myself, but you're clearly trying to do SOMETHING.
Where is synester gates?
>>690098825
They practically invented light shows...
>>690098894
Zappa too fuck yeah. Some really good tastes here. Haven't listened to Joe's Garage in a while. You should also check out his non-guitar albums if you haven't already bro, like Jazz from Hell
>>690098263
I don't think Prince was that amazing like not one of the best guitarist or something... Just like he was good and that was unexpected
>>690099224
check

Prince was an incredible guitar player. Never really cared for his music but the tribute he did to George Harrison was something else.
>>690099099
Nice dubs
I just ordered Jazz from hell on vinyl, haven't listened to it at all, I'm curious
Really like One shot deal
>>690098317

>>690098191
Underrated post
>>690096789
This
>>690097353
There's no doubting that he's really good, but I personally don't think he's quite good tier.
>>690098894
Meh. I'll admit I haven't listened to a lot of his stuff, but to me it seems like the main appeal of his music is in the lyrics.
Take this all with a grain of salt, though, because guitar isn't my main instrument.
If you want anyone that's good you could just hit up jazz guitarists like Joe Pass.
>>690097731
somebody jelly?
>>690096758
what's his name? looks like a cool dude
>>690097566
>>690097941

Was about to post Zappa
https://youtu.be/zYxaoRVofE8
>>690099656
Eh I've always thought of Jimmy Page as being a bit overrated, kinda like slash. I'd prefer page over slash though any day.
>>690099656
I can see why you'd say that. The thing was Zappa was good but most of his career you can tell he was just pissed off and made fun of genres and other stuff, so he would parody genres and make the music purposely simple. Thats why ironically I like his non-guitar albums the best. Joe's Garage is great too though like I said. There's one song on it called Fembot in a White T-Shirt. Has some classic Zappa break downs that IMO was very fundamental to his sound. Zappa was a big fan of marimba's and shit.
Mark Knopfler
Robbie Krieger
One of The best
And shame on any guitarist unfamiliar with Mr. Guitar, himself.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3jwTD89Ry28
>>690100714
Definitely God Tier.
>>690095894
but they're called bassists.
not guitarists
>>690099916
This
>>690100120
I'll go check it out later tonight.
>>690100397
He's one of the few that can be shredding like no tomorrow and then go to a simple riff without it seeming forced. And here has some great acoustic stuff on 3.
>>690100600
Yeah, he was definitely a novelty musician first and foremost.
>>690097971
That looks like Tom Petty after transitioning to a female
Oh, another one worth mentioning is Stanley Jordan.

>>690098894
>>690100372
>>690099099
Lots of folks forget about Zappa's "Shut Up 'N Play Yer Guitar".
Don't make that mistake.
Within are some AMAZING guitar solos (not to mention the performances of the other musicians!).
>>690100868
Good
But
Way overrated
The best
>>690100747
Fun fact: he started playing at 16 and joined the Doors at 19. He also claims that he never practiced solo while they were still together, only as a band.
>>690101835
nigga please
Randy fuckin Rhoads
>>690094751
> God Tier Guitarists

Degenerate piercings
>>690102376

The fact that Rory hasn't been posted yet means most of you idiots wouldn't know when a godly guitarist is playing right in front of you
>>690097353
Definitely the best of all time.
>>690102798
Yes, but how many bass players identify as a "guitarist" ?
>>690103329
I identify as a trumpet...

>>690103329
The ones that don't play this
>>690100600
>Zappa was a big fan of marimba's and shit
The reason Frank's music was so rhythmically complex was he started out playing drums.
